Technical Sales Engineer (m/f)

Your main function is to use technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide pre- and post-sales technical advice and support about our products. You will assist colleagues with bids and tenders for new clients from a technical perspective. Generating sales with existing customers and developing opportunities with new customers is one of your core tasks. Doing this, you report directly to the management in Germany, as well as the global management in our headquarter in the USA.

Responsibilities:

  • Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and potential clients
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements – speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs 
  • Creating inspection layouts and communicating customer requirements to suppliers
  • Communicate sales or service opportunities and customer concerns or suggestions
  • Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future 
  • Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively 
  • Work with suppliers to ensure customer project requirements are fully met and in time
  • Submit a variety of sales status reports as required, including activity, closings, follow-up and adherence to goals
  • Providing product quotes as required
  • Liaising between customers and the company for up-to-date status of service, pricing and new product release launches
  • Working on after-sales support services for both catalogue and custom products and providing technical back up as required
  • Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts
  • Participate at and support shows in Germany and foreign countries

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and managers
  • Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions, ensuring all company safety and quality systems are followed and all relevant legislation complied with, raising concerns and reporting any incidents or suggestions to your General Manager

Personal competences:

  • Degree in either mechanical or business engineering or comparable degree
  • Very good language skills in both, German and English language
  • Distinctive Skills in Planning and Organizing, as well as a high level of professionalism and the ability to work independently
  • Further we expect Organizational Awareness, a sense for Teamwork and a talent for Problem Solving
  • Work experience in spring business or similar industries is an advantage
